Weather in Cyprus

THROUGHOUT THE YEAR MOST OF THE TIME THE WEATHER IS WARM AND SUNNY. THE TEMPERATURES YOU WILL FIND:

Spring: Minimum Temperature 9 degrees, Maximum 27 Degrees.
Summer: Minimum Temperature 19 Degrees, Maximum 37 Degrees.
Autumn: Minimum Temperature 15 Degrees, Maximum 31 Degrees.
Winter: Minimum Temperature is 7Degrees, Maximum 19 Degrees

Education in Cyprus

Primary Schools

Primary education is compulsory for all children over the age of 5+ 8/12 and has duration of 6 years. The aim of Primary Education is to create and secure the necessary learning opportunities for children regardless of age, sex, family, social background and mental abilities. Public Primary education is free to all residents of Cyprus. Private education varies from many private schools teaching in English Language. Tuition Fess for private schools start from 1500Euro up to 3500Euro per year. There are no minimum admission requirements.

Middle Schools

Middle School also known as Secondary General Education is free to all residents of Cyprus. Secondary school offers two three-year cycles of education - Gymnasio (lower secondary education) and Lykeio (upper secondary education) - for pupils between the ages of 12 and 18. The curriculum includes core lessons, interdisciplinary subjects and a variety of extracurricular activities. Instead of the Lykeio, pupils may choose to attend Secondary Technical and Vocational Education which provides them with knowledge and skills which will prepare them to enter the workforce or pursue further studies in their area of interest. Private Secondary Schools of a High Education standard are available in all cities on the Island and tuition costs vary from 5000 Euro up to 8000 Euro per year. There are no admission requirements for Public schools however private secondary schools require a good knowledge of the English language.

Universities

At present, public and private universities operate in Cyprus. Public Universities: The University of Cyprus, The Open University of Cyprus and The Cyprus University of Technology Private Universities: European University, Frederick University, Neapolis University, University of Nicosia, Uclan University and many others.

Tourism

Approximately 3.1 million tourists visit Cyprus every year. The main countries are: England, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Greece, Scandinavian Countries and Middle Eastern Countries etc.
